Marketing Tools and Training for Your Success.

Building Entrepreneurial Relationships Online

Are you finding that building entrepreneurial relationships online is difficult? Do you work your online business by yourself from your home?  Do you find it fustrating when you are trying to learn how to get traffic to your site and there is no one around that can help you?

I work from my home office and get to gaze out at the ocean as I work.  How about you? I also have found a group to work with that provides me with help during my times of frustration.  I am talking about live visual and audio help available when I need it from a multitude of seasoned networkers who have a depth of knowledge that is awesome.

What tools do you use?  Are you even aware of what you need to be successful?, I wasn’t.  When I learned what I needed I thought to myself.  “You have got to be kidding!”

How was I going to learn all this stuff?  Well you will be amazed at the ease of the learning process when you have the help you need, when you need it.

Do you have an online office (conference room)?  Are you thinking what the heck to I need a conference room for?  Well believe me you do!  A conference room with desktop sharing helps you visually to learn.  How many times has someone tried to help you over the phone and you just don’t get it?  Hey,  how easy was it to understand when someone came to your computer and visually showed you?

With desktop sharing in a conference room that supports this feature, you can watch a knowledgeable person of that particular problem show you how to do it from their computer.  You just watch,  listen and learn.

Your own conference room also lets you invite others to share their ideas and success with you and before long you will be the one doing the sharing and teaching.

Communicating online can be difficult. It’s very easy to sit and type without taking the required minute to proofread before sending.   Go back over what you have typed to make sure  that what you really meant to say is being correctly conveyed.   There are some easy steps you can take before hitting that send button.  Remember much like a person to person comment you can’t go back and change what came out of your mouth.  The same holds true with your keyboard, can’t take it back after you hit send.

When we are writing something to someone online we’re all generally strangers.  We can’t see one another and our implied tone is exceedingly difficult to communicate effectively in print.

If  you’re writing to an acquaintance in e-mail or posting a response to a controversial issue in a forum, determine what tone you’re really trying to convey and be really careful with your wording.   Avoid sarcasm and innuendo, both are commonly lost or misunderstood in any cyberspace format.

If you wouldn’t say it aloud in real life, don’t type it online. Make this a Rule,  even if you’re writing under a pseudonym, an individual can truly still figure out who you are and it can come back around to you sooner or later. When your doing your writing, consider all the politicians and public figures that made comments that were caught when they were within microphone distance.

Proofread, reread and if you’re angry or emotional, step away and return later, reread again before sending. The worst time to send an e-mail or a response to somebody you’re disagreeing with online is when you’re upset.   It is very possible that you will  type and send something you’ll regret later.  Same as in face to face, once it is said it can’t be taken back.

Prevent discriminatory content and cussing.  There’s nothing more off-putting than a poorly worded comment with misspelled curse words and terrible grammar.  It’s far better to be civilized, concise, respectful and knowledgeable even if you’re responding to somebody else who’s being crude, ridiculous and or scornful.  Be the better person.

Be personal and universal at the same time.  You want to be yourself without letting out personal information. If you include your own twist on a topic in your own voice you will  make yourself more personable and approachable online.

If you’re posting it online merely for the sake of producing a stir, don’t!  It would be much better for all of us if every individual posting online would take this into consideration.

Patti and Jeff are friends of ours for many many years and they have just now begun to learn about blogging.  When you first begin to learn it is a challenge but if you get the proper help then it can become fun.

Taking on the challenge all by yourself  can be overwhelming.  Our team provides help in several different ways.  Live in our conference training room, videos that take you step by step through the process and of course one on one help through our personal conference room where we have desktop sharing and powerpoint presentations.  Then of course there is the telelphone for a quick “help”.

Take a look at howPatti and Jeff  are doing with their new blog.   Remember it is a work in process but I bet they would love having comments.

In order for a web site to be available on the World Wide Web, it must be hosted on a server.  There are several different ways to accomplish this.  Most large hosting companies will have their own servers and the network infrastructure needed for their site to be available on the Web.  However, the equipment and technical resources needed to set up such a system are very expensive, beyond the reach of smaller companies, organizations and individual users.  Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs),  offer free web pages for their subscribers.  There are also free web hosting services, such as Geocities.  However, using these services has several disadvantages.  Such services will not allow you to have your own domain name, i.e. “http://yourname.com”.  Instead, you will have to use the name allocated by that service. Additionally, any advertisements that appear on your site will be provided by the service, and any revenue generated from such advertisements will be kept by them, instead of coming to you.  Finally there will also be restrictions on the amount of space you use and the number of visitors you can receive per month.

An alternative to this is to use a web hosting company.  For a monthly fee, such a company will host your site for you on its own servers.  This removes the need for you to buy and maintain expensive hardware, and also will counter the disadvantages of using a free hosting service.

A typical web hosting company will have several servers and one or more high-speed connections to the Internet, usually T1 connections that are linked directly to the T3 lines that form the “backbone” of the Internet, ensuring high data-transfer rates.  In order to keep this equipment running, such companies will have multiple power supplies, including stand-alone generators, to ensure that power is available at all times.  The servers will be housed in climate-controlled rooms and technical and support staff will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Web hosting companies typically offer a variety of service plans, at costs ranging from $5/month to $100/month or more, depending on the type and amount of services offered.  All plans will offer some disk space to store your site and a monthly bandwidth, or transfer, allowance.  Email will also be included, allowing you to set up email addresses in the form of “name@yourname.com”.  Also included will be FTP access to the server housing your site, allowing you to upload updates at any time.  Technical support will also be available, to help resolve any problems you may encounter. Other services offered may include the ability to set up shopping carts or the availability of SSL transactions to ensure data security.

A web hosting company will allow you to establish a site on the Web without any of the disadvantages of a free service, and at a far lower cost than would be involved in setting up your own server system.  You will also be able to pick out your own unique domain name, making it easier for visitors to find your site.  Since the web hosting company supplies all of the hardware and technical staff needed to host and operate the site, this allows the user to concentrate his time and resources on designing and maintaining the site.

On the web

I am fairly new with blogging and even though I accomplished setting up my blog  I found that is not the end of it.  My Granddaughter Krista who is beginning her online career noticed that I had a misspelled word in my header.  Well that was embarrassing and I wanted to correct it immediately.

I went to my wordpress and darn if I could figure out how to correct it.   A simple thing of course but frustrating to me when I couldn’t go right to the spot to fix it.  One of the other gals that co-hosts our conference room came in and I told her what my issue was.  She went into her wordpress and between us we found the solution.  What a reflief.

Maybe we can help you solve one of your little problems, come on in and visit with us.  Click on the link below, no download required just your name and isp speed.

Have you been knocking around on the Net trying to figure out how to be successful?  I certainly have!  And have I been successful?…NO!  Not until now have I even gotten an idea of what to do to have success with my home-based business.

I am a member of TeamBobYeager and we are lucky enough to have leaders in our group that are interested in our success.  They have taken their years of knowledge and are passing it on to us.

Mike Silva, Keith Dennis from the UK and of course Bob Yeager.  These three are our leaders in our GVO Team.

If you would like to see an example of what we learn go to our site at CLICKHERE.

Our trainings are done live in a conference room and then they are uploaded into our team blog.  We can go there and watch the trainings as many times as we wish.  I put the training video on my laptop and do the work step by step on my PC.   This gives me the ability to go do the work at my own speed and on my own agenda.

I have learned how to build a blog of my own, how to post and how to get it out on the net for others to see.  You can learn all of this as well.  We have free access to many of our trainings if you would like to attend just let me know.

See ya on the net.

Training on Blogging and how to Post Properly.

I took a training this morning on posting on my blog once I had it set up.  This training on Blogging and how to Post Properly  was done with Keith Dennis, Mike Silva and Bob Yeager.

Here are some of the things I learned.

Find your niche and make sure all the posting are done in that area, in other words don’t put all kinds of different information on your blog that are in a different areas of expertise.  Have a different blog for each niche if needed.

Use notepad to put in your ideas, refine and then copy and paste from notepad.  Notepad won’t put any codes and other things you don’t want into your blog, it is a straight text document.

Title of your blog post needs to be short and sweet.   Have your keyword strings in your title.

Put your title and at the beginning of your title as a h2 tag.  For example you want to use the tag < (open) h2 </>(close) h2.  This will make your header bold and the search engine will recognize this as important.   The search engines recognize the h2 more so than if you just put it in bold.

How about bold and italics?

A good way to start a different paragraph is with either bold or italics with the html editor in wordpress.  This is important if you wish to get the attention of the reader with your next thought.

html code that could be important to your Blog

Line breaks after a picture or a video.  ( <BR> <BR> )  This is the very simple code to do line breaks and you can be creative with it.  You will see the words strong in your html editor and all that means is bold.
Another piece of html code to center  a video or picture into your blog.

Here is an example of the code….(</center>then drop video or picture  here </center>)

Using the code above in parentheses centers the video or picture for you.

Hyper-linking with html code.

If you wish to link your post to another website or blog.  highlight then copy and paste the words Blogging and how to Post Properly then click on the link icon in your html editor.   You will see that the words “Blogging and how to Post Properly” will be underlined and change color.  You reader can click on the words and be taken to whatever site you have pointed your link.

Opening a link in another window.

The example below demonstrates how to link to another page by opening a new window, so that the visitor does not have to leave your Web site.

<<A target=_blank HREF=”http://www.yourdomain.com”>Your Text</a>

Edit the text in red and add TARGET=”_blank” to your link code.
This is an example of what kind of training is available to us with  TeamBobYeager

On Thursday Feb. 18, the TeamBobYeager group of GVO has a training with John Milton Fogg, John is a Network Marketing author, speaker and coach and the author of the e-book “The Greatest Networkers in the World”

The  training was about Developing Relationships and John told us about his 90 day challenge in Facebook.  It was about connecting and developing relationships with others.  Connection is job number one.  After connection, you build a relationship and exchange value.  This value needs to be something they can use.  This is very much what TeamBobYeager is all about.

Human beings are reciprocal is what John said and I agree with that concept.

He said to ask them questions about their business.  They are compelled by human nature to ask you about yourself.   John and Bob talked a lot about how people don’t listen.

Relationships become friendships.  Friend shipping is looking for something you have in common.  Something of value that you are both interested in. Promise them what they want, give them what they need.  Said by JMF

Mike and John have been building a relationship to bring a project to TeamBobYeager.  They talked about some of the challenges that they have had.   John says Mike is OPEN!  That was a compliment from John Milton Fogg to Mike Silva.  Mike is willing to say “I don’t know.”  Something that John finds valuable.

For more information about the relationship with TeamBobYeager and John Milton Fogg and what we do as a group we invite you to come visit us in our conference room.  Between the members of our group there is a lot of talent and if we can help you with one of your online challenges we will.

What is a Blog and Why WordPress?

A blog, it is a content management system but basically it is a website. A different form of a website, it has a lot of opportunities that are not available in a standard html website. For some reason search engines love Blogs, and it is easier to get your blogs indexed than a standard html website. Blogs have an automatic system built within them called pinging. Every time something new is added to your blog, any new comments, blogs, posts etc. the blog automatically sends a notice through a means of pinging to all the search engines and a number of directories. The blog is automatically alerting the search engines that you have new content.

WordPress is a standard blog of the industry, and I feel it is the best all around system for blogging.

Can you use Google’s Blogger, the answer is yes, there are uses for Google’s Blogger.
The main problem with blogger is it’s owned by Google and it’s run on their servers. So when you set up a Bloggers blog you are limited to what you can do and what you can add. If Google should ever decide that they don’t like your blog or they need to cut back on some space, can can press a button and your blog is gone.
There are some good uses for Google’s Blogger blog and that will be covered at a later time.

The first thing you need is a domain name. In order to brand yourself you should have a domain that is your own name if possible.
After you buy your domain you need to point it to your hosting. Log into your domain server account and then go to domain and then domain manager.

New screen will have domain name showing, check the box. When the box is checked it will bring up a row of icons on the top of the page, one of them says “nameserver”. Click on the nameserver icon.

Separate window will open, scroll down to the fourth option. Click on it window will open and you will see the dns server for your hosting company.

Click ok, new window click ok
Once you have the nameservers correct, you go into the Web Host Manager in your back office.
The very first thing you must do when you log into your account for the first time is scroll down on the left hand side and go to Packages.
Click on add a package. You need to set up at least one package, you can use one package for all your domains.

Next Window: Name your package

Resources you are going to assign
Quota: (disk space) 1000 mg just short of 1 gig (suggestion only)
Bandwidth: 5000mg just short of 5 gig (suggestion only)
You might want to have Max Databases at 5, suggestion only.
Scroll down:
If you are using Word Press as we are in this example leave the check mark in CGI Access

Click on “ADD”
A package will be created, you will see an id # just before the package. Don’t let that bother you. You can go back and edit or delete a package.
Next go to
ACCOUNT FUNCTIONS……. CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT

When you click on the username box it will automatically fill the username for you.
Password: we suggest you use the generate password, but that is only a suggestion. Having a more complicated password will make it harder for it to be hacked.
Email: You need a viable email. This is where you receive the information for the account your created.
Choose a package: You will find the package you can use in the green in the drop down window
Do not check “select option manually”.
Settings stay the same
DNS Settings: Put a check mark in the box. You will see the “nameservers” that you pointed your domain to in your domain manager.
Click on “Create”: Your account will be created and you will get a New Account Info. You may want to copy the info and save it on your computer. You will also get an email in the email account you put in earlier. We suggest you keep a hard copy of this information.
Go back to the side panel to ACCOUNT INFORMATION….LIST ACCOUNTS…You will find any domains that you have added to your account.
You now go to your CPANEL at http://yourdomainname.com/cpanel You will use the username and password that you generated and saved.
